Disangka Merakit Bom, Ilmuwan NASA Dukung Ahmed Mohamed

Fimela.com, Jakarta Sejak kemarin, Kamis (17/9), dunia dikejutkan oleh kabar penangkapan seorang remaja muslim, Ahmed Mohamed, di salah satu sekolah di Irving, Texas, Amerika Serikat. Bukan tanpa alasan, siswa berusia 14 tahun itu dicurigai membawa bom dalam bentuk jam. Tanpa ragu, pihak sekolah segera menghubungi polisi yang langsung memborgol dan menangkap Ahmed.

Ternyata kecurigaan itu tak terbukti. Bukan bom yang dibawa, namun jam rakitan Ahmed sendiri. Ia berniat menunjukkan pada guru Teknik Mesinnya, agar bisa masuk dalam klub robotik. Sebelumnya, ia sudah berulang kali menjelaskan kalau itu hanyalah jam, bukan bom. Tapi, pengangkapan atas dirinya tetap dilakukan.

Heboh! Berita tersebut menyebar dengan cepatnya, sehingga menimbulkan beragam reaksi dari netizen. Tak hanya masyarakat umum, salah satu ilmuwan Badan Penerbangan dan Antariksa Amerika Serikat (NASA), Babak Ferdowsi, pun memulai satu 'gerakan' dengan gunakan #IStandWithAhmed yang sudah mengumpulkan kicauan di angka sekitar 800.000 tweet. Langsung aja nih kamu lihat kumpulan kicauan tersebut.
